Knowledge Base
IndusCommons has generated perhaps the most significant knowledge base related to wicked problems and wicked strategies®. This knowledge base, the foundation of our value proposition, is built around a three-decade compendium of research by our principals. Key publications may be accessed through links provided below.
Strategy as a Wicked Problem This catalytic and widely cited article, published by Harvard Business Review, represents IndusCommons's pioneering research and management processes. It is required reading for senior executives at companies such as Alcoa, Bayer, and PPG. Do Your Planning Processes Meet the Reality Test? This seminal article on long-range planning was the earliest to make managers aware of the challenge of wicked problems. Wicked Problems This definitive description of Wicked Problems in the arena of strategic management was published in the authoritative Palgrave Encyclopedia of Strategic Management. Logical Incrementalism "Logical Incrementalism" is a step beyond traditional approaches to strategic management, toward the processes and systems that IndusCommons employs to respond to the challenges in today's business environment. This intermediate step toward Wicked Strategies® is described by John Camillus in the Palgrave Encyclopedia of Strategic Management. Feed-Forward Systems: Managing a Future Filled with Wicked Problems The feed-forward techniques and processes employed by IndusCommons are presented in the 2015 Winter issue of Rotman Management (the magazine of the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto).
